Complications: Update 2

Now it’s Monday night and Chloe, Mo & I are back home

Lina had a rough weekend but is doing much better tonight. They started treating the aGVHD yesterday with steroids and it seems to have begun to work.

When we left Lina at noon today she was still not feeling well but the team of 5(!) docs who came to check on her at 11am insisted that her rash and condition seemed to be improved.

She ate a baked potato, a smoothie and two bites of an oatmeal cookie tonight – the first solids in 9 days (update: unsuccessful meal). And she says that she feels better – she was even able to watch 2 movies on Moriah’s portable DVD player and part of the Red Sox game tonight.

It’s wonderful to hear Lina’s feeling better tonight. We’re thinking of all of you constantly and hope she’s on her way to leaving all of these complications permanently behind her. I can imagine how hard it is for all of you for Lina not to be at home and really hope she gets back there soon. I also wish we lived closer and could see and talk to all of you in person.
Thanks for keeping all of us up to date.

    Love, Moie

Good to have at least some better news about your recovering, Lina. Again going through a very awful phase after the cell transplant, a downfall after all the hopes, thst was very depressing. We all now keep the fingers crossed, that finally the most difficult time should be over!!
Calling you in the hospital might mean, that you have to tell all the items again and again. That will probably make you nervous. Therefore we wait until you are at home, before calling you sometime again.
    Best regards
    Sebastian and family

Good to hear that you’re feeling better, Lina. If watching a Red Sox game is good, imagine what a Sea Dogs game will do for you! Something to look forward to when the steroids do their work and you’re back home. All best, Jeff

Lina -I ran in to Craig outside the IGA on Tuesday And he gave me this web site. I think about you all the time and pray you WILL BEAT IT and beat it back good. You may be tiny and frail at the moment, but there is fighter inside, one that is surrounded by a loving and equally determined family! I did tell Craig if Chloe wants ANYTHING – talk, scream, yell take a drive, a trip or escape for awhile, I’m here. Same goes for you – name it and you’ve got it. Talking to Craig he explained the emergency room ordeal – he admitted he was tired but his blue eyes still had a sparkle in them. He has faith. I’ve rambled on long enough so I’ll say good night. If you need ANYTHING – I’m here – I can be in Boston in the blink of an eye! Get lots of rest – Bunches of HUGS Love Deb
